Custodian / Janitor – Manufacturing Facility

 

Express Employment Professionals is hiring a Custodian / Janitor for a client in the Rochester, NY area! This hands-on role is ideal for someone who takes pride in keeping a workplace clean, organized, and safe.

In this position, you will perform daily cleaning and custodial duties throughout a manufacturing facility, including production areas, offices, restrooms, break rooms, and outdoor spaces.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, and clean production areas, offices, restrooms, break rooms, and hallways.

• Operate a floor scrubber daily and wax, finish, and buff floors as needed.

• Vacuum and shampoo carpeted areas.

• Empty trash cans and dispose of waste and recyclable materials.

• Clean, sanitize, and restock restrooms.

• Dust office areas and polish furniture.

• Keep the area surrounding the paint line free of debris, oil, and dirt.

• Clean interior and exterior windows, drinking fountains, light fixtures, and ventilation ducts.

• Monitor cleaning supply inventory and communicate replenishment needs.

• Remove snow from entrance walkways used by employees and visitors.

• Keep the building exterior and fenced perimeter free of litter.

• Perform all duties professionally and follow workplace safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Dependable, organized, and attentive to detail.

• Ability to manage daily cleaning tasks and maintain consistent cleanliness standards.

• Ability to safely use cleaning supplies and custodial equipment.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, crouch, bend, stretch, and crawl as needed.

• Ability to perform occasional heavy lifting of 50 pounds or more.

• Ability to grip tools and equipment and use a full range of arm motion to complete cleaning tasks.
