Material Handler / Production Support Associate

 

Express Employment Professionals is hiring a Material Handler / Production Support Associate for a client in the Rochester, NY area! This hands-on opportunity is ideal for someone with manufacturing experience who enjoys staying active and supporting a variety of production tasks.

In this role, you will help keep production moving by delivering materials to work centers, tracking work in progress, and assisting with shipping, receiving, and inventory.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Pull and prepare kits of raw materials for work orders and deliver them to the appropriate work centers.

• Move materials and in-process parts between departments to support production schedules.

• Stage materials for outside processing and prepare finished parts for shipment.

• Load and unload trucks and secure materials using skids, banding, and shrink wrap.

• Assist with shipping and receiving activities, including related paperwork.

• Maintain accurate inventory records and enter material transactions into the computer system.

• Support production activities, including tube bending, spot welding, grinding, and saw cutting.

• Monitor the progress of jobs and communicate material shortages, delays, and production updates to supervisors.

• Coordinate with production, engineering, and office personnel to help resolve issues and keep orders on schedule.

• Follow material handling, identification, and storage procedures.

• Keep work areas organized and aisles clear of debris.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• At least 1 year of manufacturing knowledge and/or production control experience.

• Quality inspection experience is helpful.

• Ability to communicate clearly in written and spoken English.

• Basic computer skills for inventory transactions and recordkeeping.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to prioritize tasks and work with team members across departments.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods and bend throughout the workday.

• Ability to lift and move materials weighing 50 pounds.

• Ability to perform hands-on tasks in a manufacturing environment while following safety procedures.
