About the Company

Express Employment is seeking reliable and safety-oriented Steel Construction Laborers to join the Steel Erection team for a local company in Clinton, IA. This position will support a variety of field and industrial projects, including steel building erection, layout, fabrication, assembly, and welding. Depending on experience, employees may also have the opportunity to operate various types of construction equipment and machinery.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with steel building erection, steel layout, fabrication, and assembly.
• Assist with welding and other steel-related construction tasks.
• Perform a variety of physical labor duties on field and industrial projects.
• Operate construction equipment based on experience, including skid steers, AWP/scissor lifts, rollers, excavators, and heavy trucks.
• Work as part of a team to complete projects safely, efficiently, and according to project requirements.
• Follow all company and job-site safety guidelines and procedures.
• Work at various project locations throughout the Clinton, IA area.
• Perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, crouching, climbing ladders, and working outdoors in various weather conditions.

Required Qualifications

• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen.
• Strong commitment to safety and following job-site procedures.
• Dependable attendance and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Ability to regularly lift over 50 lbs. and perform physically demanding work.
• Ability to work outdoors and in various weather conditions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous steel erection experience is a plus.
• Prior experience in steel erection, concrete work, or carpentry is highly preferred.
• Experience with steel layout, fabrication, assembly, or welding is helpful.
• Previous experience operating construction equipment such as skid steers, AWP/scissor lifts, rollers, excavators, or heavy trucks is a plus.
