Assembly Technician (Fab Shop)

Express Employment Professionals is recruiting for a local manufacturing company in White City, Oregon. We are looking for a dependable, detail-oriented Assembly Technician to join a growing manufacturing team. Position Overview

The Assembly Technician will use a variety of hand and power tools to assemble mechanical and electro-mechanical components while following engineering drawings, assembly instructions, and established quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Assemble mechanical and electro-mechanical components according to drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
• Use hand tools, torque tools, pneumatic tools, and basic electrical tools.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and assembly instructions.
• Perform quality inspections and verify completed assemblies meet specifications.
• Use basic measuring equipment and accurately follow torque specifications.
• Identify and troubleshoot basic mechanical or electrical issues.
• Operate a forklift as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized workstation while following 5S and safety standards.
• Communicate effectively with team members and work independently when required.
• Follow all safety procedures and immediately report hazards or unsafe conditions.
• Assist with other assembly and manufacturing duties as needed.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, schematics, and assembly instructions.
• Experience using hand tools, torque tools, and/or basic measuring equipment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to work safely and effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic.

Preferred Qualifications

• 1–3 years of mechanical assembly, final assembly, or similar manufacturing experience.
• Experience with complex mechanical or electro-mechanical assembly.
• Experience working with torque specifications, quality inspections, and final testing.
• Manufacturing experience in aerospace, automotive, machining, metal fabrication, or heavy equipment.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing and 5S principles.
• Basic mechanical or electrical troubleshooting experience.
• Forklift experience.
