What You'll Do
As a key member of the engineering team, you'll contribute throughout the entire product lifecycle, from concept and design to manufacturing execution and quality assurance.
Engineering & Product Design
- Develop and maintain detailed part drawings for customers, production teams, sales, and R&D initiatives
- Create, revise, and manage CAD drawings while ensuring document control accuracy
- Support product design, print interpretation, and prototype development
- Design molds, tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing solutions
- Collaborate with CNC programming and machining teams to optimize production processes
- Participate in prototype builds and initial production runs to ensure design intent and quality standards are achieved
Manufacturing & Production Support
- Analyze customer specifications and determine appropriate tooling, materials, and manufacturing methods
- Evaluate whether tooling should be produced internally or outsourced
- Develop material and labor estimates, track project timelines, and coordinate vendor quotes
- Create production layouts, fixture drawings, jigs, and manufacturing documentation
- Support CNC layout and programming activities as needed
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to production teams to improve efficiency, consistency, and product quality
Continuous Improvement & Innovation
- Research and implement new manufacturing technologies and methodologies
- Identify opportunities to improve production efficiency and reduce costs
- Develop innovative tooling and process solutions
- Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance product performance and operational effectiveness
- Recommend and implement process enhancements aligned with organizational objectives
Quality Assurance
- Support and maintain quality management systems and engineering documentation
- Work directly with customers to understand and meet quality expectations
- Investigate product and process issues through root cause analysis and corrective action planning
- Maintain quality records, reports, and compliance documentation
- Manage quality-related activities including inspections, document control, corrective actions, and product returns
- Monitor quality trends and recommend improvements that increase customer satisfaction and product reliability
What You'll Bring
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Strong knowledge of engineering design principles and manufacturing processes
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple departments and teams
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities simultaneously
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SolidWorks, including 3D modeling and drafting
- Knowledge of mold design and tooling development
- Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment
- Familiarity with CNC machining and programming concepts
- Experience supporting quality systems and continuous improvement initiatives
