Express Employment Professionals is hiring 7 Event Staff Associates to support a large, one-day public event in Virginia Beach.

We are looking for dependable, friendly, flexible people who are ready to jump in and help wherever needed. Positions range from guest services and activity support to event setup, sales assistance, and general event operations.

This is a great opportunity to earn extra money on a Saturday without committing to an ongoing position.

Potential Responsibilities

Depending on your assigned role, duties may include:

Greeting and assisting event attendees
Distributing wristbands, giveaway bags, or other attendee materials
Monitoring entrances and helping manage guest flow
Directing attendees and answering basic questions
Assisting the event host with errands, signage, supplies, and other needs
Supporting a family-friendly activity and paint station
Keeping event areas, tables, and supplies organized
Providing friendly customer service to attendees and vendors
Setting up signs, displays, tables, and event materials
Carrying supplies and materials to and from designated areas
Assisting customers with merchandise
Processing basic cash and credit card transactions
Maintaining and independently supporting a vendor/display area
Assisting with event breakdown
Providing general support wherever additional help is needed

Pay

General Event Staff: $18.00/hour

General assignments may include guest services, wristband and giveaway distribution, entry monitoring, host assistance, and activity station support.

Event Setup & Specialized Event Support: $21.00/hour

Certain assignments pay a higher rate based on additional responsibilities.

Setup Associates will help move and assemble event materials, signs, displays, and supplies. Candidates selected for setup must be comfortable with physical work and able to safely lift approximately 40–50 lbs.

Sales & Operations Support may include assisting customers, handling cash and credit transactions, maintaining a vendor area, helping with setup and breakdown, and providing support throughout the event. Knowledge of or a strong interest in plants is preferred for this assignment. The client will conduct a brief interview before selecting the individual for this position.

Dress Code

Associates should arrive in:

Plain black shirt
Full-length jeans or slacks
Comfortable, work-appropriate shoes

Staff lanyards will be provided for the event.
