We are seeking a dependable, personable Medical Office / Patient Coordinator to join a small healthcare practice. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working directly with patients, staying organized, and taking ownership of their work.
Medical Assistant experience is helpful but not required. The most important qualities are being a strong self-starter, having excellent communication skills, and being comfortable working independently in a small-office environment.
What You'll Do
- Answer incoming phone calls and assist patients with questions
- Greet and assist patients when they arrive
- Provide front-desk support and help keep the office running smoothly
- Work closely with healthcare providers
- Assist with insurance documentation and related paperwork
- Use AdvancedMD medical software
- Enter patient information and lab results accurately into AdvancedMD
- Follow up on new patient referrals
- Coordinate referrals and schedule patients with providers
- Maintain accurate and organized patient information
- Take initiative and prioritize tasks when providers and owners are in and out of the office
- Provide a welcoming, professional experience for patients
What We're Looking For
- Previous Medical Assistant or medical office experience is helpful, but not required
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
- Comfortable in a small-office environment where priorities can change
- Professional, dependable, and willing to take initiative
- Comfortable learning and using medical software; AdvancedMD experience is a plus
