A local recycling and waste management company is seeking dependable Lumpers to assist with commercial and public offloading, material sorting, and general cleanup. This is a hands-on position requiring employees to stay on their feet throughout the shift and work safely in a loud, fast-paced environment.

Job Description

The Lumper is responsible for sorting recyclable and waste materials, assisting customers with offloading, monitoring designated loading areas, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Employees will work with materials on conveyor systems and in pit areas while identifying recyclables, non-recyclables, and potentially hazardous materials.

Responsibilities

• Sort mixed recyclable materials from waste materials
• Identify and separate materials such as paper, glass, and other recyclables
• Open bags and inspect contents as needed
• Empty and change sorted material containers
• Identify, report, and take appropriate action regarding hazardous materials
• Assist customers with offloading vehicles, trucks, and trailers
• Clean and maintain pit and surrounding areas
• Monitor bay doors and check in drivers
• Complete C&D forms when needed
• Use a scanner to scan driver tickets
• Record truck identification numbers
• Complete commercial load logs
• Sort Construction & Demolition and yard debris
• Maintain organized and safe offloading areas
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures

Experience & Qualifications

• Ability to work on your feet for the entire shift
• Ability to stand, walk, and use stairs throughout the workday
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work safely around waste, recycling, and heavy equipment
• Ability to work in a loud and fast-paced environment
• Reliable attendance and punctuality
• Ability to follow safety procedures and company policies
• Comfortable working outdoors and in areas that may become dirty

Work Schedule

Saturday: 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
Sunday: 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM

Pay Rate

$20.00/hour

Dress Code & PPE

• Steel-toed work boots are required
• Wear clothing that is okay to get dirty
• Jeans and T-shirts are acceptable
• No clothing with profanity
• Company provides coveralls, hard hats, safety vests, and gloves
• Men's and women's locker rooms are available

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to sit, stand, and walk throughout the shift
• Must be able to use stairways as needed
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Associates will be on their feet for the majority of the workday
