MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Associate Degree in Human Resources or equivalent combination of education, training and relevant experience that demonstrates required knowledge and skills to perform the position. Two (2) years HR experience is required. Additionally, strong computer navigation skills including knowledge with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint); strong attention to detail; organizational, problem solving and independent judgement skills. 

 This is a part time 3-6 month position, with the possibility of permanent placement! The wage is $25 an hour.

  • Strong computer navigation skills, including proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, problem-solving abilities, and independent judgment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Human Resources

  • Assist in revising and implementing HR policies, procedures, and forms.
  • Help train HR staff as directed.
  • Manage highly confidential employee records and information.
  • Maintain HR automated systems and generate/analyze reports.
  • Advise staff on HR-related policies and best practices.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts within the HR team.
  • Assist leadership in identifying training, communication, and organizational needs.
  • Navigate uncertain situations with discretion and seek guidance when needed.

Onboarding

  • Act as a point of contact during onboarding for new hires and rehires.
  • Communicate with applicants regarding compensation, benefits, and opportunities.
  • Conduct applicant screenings and manage legal documentation (I-9, W-4, etc.).
  • Perform reference and background checks.
  • Coordinate start dates and orientation with the training team.
  • Track pre-employment health testing and assist with independent contractor processes.
  • Manage professional credentialing and provider enrollments.
  • Track expiration dates for licenses and certifications.
  • Consult with the HR Assistant Director as needed.

Professionalism

  • Follow and model organizational policies and core values.
  • Understand and apply laws, regulations, and company procedures.
  • Build effective working relationships with employees, vendors, and external partners.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism, confidentiality, and customer service.
  • Manage time efficiently, prioritize tasks, and meet critical deadlines.
  • Demonstrate excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance.

Administrative

  • Accurately enter and maintain employee data.
  • Administer HR programs and practices across various functional areas.
  • Ensure personnel files comply with legal requirements.
  • Provide cross-functional team support and backup coverage.
  • Assist management and program personnel with HR processes.
  • Run audits and compliance reports as needed.
  • Operate modern office equipment and adapt to new software tools.
  • Track employee data using Excel, Trello, and other reporting tools.
  • Draft independent correspondence and participate in staff meetings.
  • Stay up to date with required trainings.
  • Perform filing, copying, and document management as necessary.
