General Laborer / Shop Apprentice

Pay: $23-$27/hr DOE
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday-Friday | 40 Hours per Week

About the Opportunity

We are a growing metal manufacturing and fabrication company seeking a motivated General Laborer / Shop Apprentice to join our team.

This is an entry-level floater position that supports multiple areas of shop production, including measuring, machine operation, material handling, fabrication support, and general shop labor. It's an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work and is interested in building a long-term career in manufacturing, fabrication, or welding.

🛠 Responsibilities

• Assist with daily shop production and fabrication activities
• Measure materials accurately using a tape measure and other measuring tools
• Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and work orders
• Assist with machine operation and equipment setup
• Prepare materials, tools, and workstations for production
• Stage and organize materials to keep projects moving efficiently
• Load, unload, and move materials throughout the shop
• Operate a forklift safely
• Support welders, fabricators, and production staff as needed
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Perform general shop labor, cleanup, and housekeeping duties
• Help ensure jobs are production-ready and completed to quality standards

✅ Qualifications

Required

• Valid driver's license
• Ability to accurately read a tape measure
• Strong work ethic and dependable attendance
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Ability to work in a physically active manufacturing environment

Preferred

• Construction, manufacturing, fabrication, or trade experience
• Experience operating shop equipment or machinery
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
• Interest in welding, fabrication, or manufacturing
