Our client is a family-owned and operated commercial linen supply and laundry service focused on quality, reliability, and exceptional customer service. We serve businesses throughout the Twin Cities metro area, including hotels, restaurants, event venues, and airlines.
We are a growing company with a fast-paced, team-oriented work environment and opportunities for employees to grow with us.
Job Description
Our client is seeking a Route Sales & Service Representative (RSR) to manage, retain, and grow an established route of customer accounts.
This is much more than a delivery position. RSRs are responsible for the overall health and revenue of their route. They serve as the primary day-to-day relationship between Our client and our customers and are expected to understand each customer’s business, build strong relationships with key decision-makers, identify opportunities to increase sales, resolve service issues, and protect long-term customer relationships.
RSRs operate a company truck along an established route while delivering and picking up rental linen products such as bar towels, napkins, aprons, uniforms, and other items. The position is physical and fast-paced, but successful RSRs combine excellent route execution with customer service, sales, account management, and business ownership.
In addition to starting hourly pay of $26.00+ per hour, RSRs have the opportunity to earn uncapped commission paid monthly by growing business and increasing revenue within their route. The more you grow your route, the greater your earning potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and grow route revenue by maintaining existing business and identifying opportunities to increase sales within current customer accounts.
- Build strong relationships with owners, managers, and other key decision-makers and become a trusted partner to customers.
- Retain customers by proactively identifying concerns, following through on commitments, and resolving service issues.
- Upsell and cross-sell additional products and services that meet customer needs and increase account revenue.
- Identify sales opportunities within existing accounts and actively pursue additional business.
- Protect route revenue by monitoring customer usage, inventory levels, product needs, and account changes.
- Support Accounts Receivable by professionally discussing past-due balances with customers, requesting payment, and helping resolve billing concerns when needed.
- Look for changes within customer accounts that may create either a risk to existing revenue or an opportunity for additional business.
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels at customer locations while controlling shortages, losses, and unnecessary product costs.
- Deliver clean linen and pick up soiled linen accurately, efficiently, and on schedule.
- Serve as the face of Our client and represent the company professionally at every customer interaction.
- Communicate customer needs, concerns, opportunities, and competitive information back to the Our client team.
- Operate company vehicles professionally, safely, and in compliance with DOT and company requirements.
What Success Looks Like
A successful RSR doesn’t simply complete the route—they leave their route stronger than they found it.
Success means:
- Customers want to continue doing business with us.
- Route revenue is maintained and grows over time.
- Customer concerns are addressed quickly and professionally.
- Opportunities for additional products and services are identified and sold.
- Service agreements are renewed.
- Past-due accounts are actively addressed.
- Inventory is controlled and customer needs are anticipated.
- Customers know and trust their RSR.
