Delivery Manager

Location: Texarkana, AR
Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour (based on experience)

Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable and motivated Delivery Manager to lead our delivery operations team in Texarkana, AR. This position is responsible for managing a team of approximately 14-16 drivers and driver helpers, ensuring safe and efficient deliveries, maintaining exceptional customer service standards, and supporting day-to-day operational success.

This is a working manager role within a small department. The successful candidate must be willing and able to assist with deliveries by performing driver or driver helper duties when business needs require.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Performance Management

• Directly oversee and lead a team of approximately 14-16 drivers and driver helpers.
• Set clear expectations for all drivers and driver helpers regarding safety, performance, attendance, and compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Monitor driver team performance and provide coaching, training, performance feedback, and corrective action documentation when necessary.
• Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment focused on accountability and customer satisfaction.

Delivery Operations

• Work closely with drivers to ensure the accuracy, quality, and readiness of products being delivered to customers.
• Quickly and effectively resolve delivery issues, identify root causes, and implement appropriate corrective actions.
• Ensure all delivery activities are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company standards.

Communication & Customer Service

• Maintain timely and effective communication with delivery personnel, store staff, distribution center personnel, and customers.
• Deliver exceptional customer service by addressing concerns professionally and ensuring positive customer experiences.
• Identify opportunities to improve both the guest experience and operational efficiency.

Fleet & Equipment Management

• Determine the necessary inventory of tools, equipment, and parts required for each delivery truck.
• Ensure delivery vehicles are properly stocked and equipped to support daily operations.
• Oversee the return of Demountable Boxes to the Distribution Center, ensuring compliance with cargo securement requirements and quality standards.

Working Manager Responsibilities

• Support daily delivery operations as needed by performing the duties of a Driver or Driver Helper.
• Assist with route coverage, staffing shortages, and peak workload periods.
• Lead by example through active participation in operational activities.

Qualifications

Required

• Experience driving 26-foot box trucks.
• Previous experience supervising, leading, or managing employees.
• Ability to effectively manage and develop a team of 14-16 associates.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to coach, motivate, and hold team members accountable.
• Strong customer service orientation.

Preferred

• Experience in delivery, transportation, logistics, warehouse, retail operations, or a related field.
• Experience with delivery routing, fleet operations, and performance management.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift, push, pull, and move merchandise as required.
• Ability to enter and exit delivery vehicles multiple times per day.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
• Ability to work in various weather conditions while supporting delivery operations.
• Ability to safely operate a 26-foot box truck when required.
