Job Type: Full-Time

Schedule: Flexible schedule required, including weekends. Two days off during the week. Specific schedules may vary by location.

 

Express Employment Professionals is hiring Kitchen Prep / Kitchen Helpers for busy food production and restaurant operations in Edinburg, San Juan, and McAllen, TX. This is a hands-on food preparation position for dependable individuals who can work in a fast-paced kitchen environment and follow food safety and production procedures.

The position involves preparing ingredients, assisting with food production, packaging food products, maintaining a clean work area, and supporting the kitchen team with daily operations.

Important Physical Requirements:

• Employees must be able to stand and work on their feet for extended periods, perform repetitive tasks, and regularly lift, carry, move, and handle kitchen equipment, food products, ingredients, and other materials weighing up to 50 pounds.

Job Duties:

• Prepare, chop, portion, and package vegetables and other ingredients for daily food production
• Assist with preparing and assembling food products according to company procedures
• Lift and move kitchen equipment, ingredients, food supplies, and finished products weighing up to 50 pounds
• Load, unload, organize, and store food supplies and ingredients as needed
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen and work area
• Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, work surfaces, and other areas
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures
• Follow instructions from kitchen supervisors and team leaders
• Work efficiently to meet daily production and food preparation requirements
• Assist with packaging, production, and other general kitchen duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Previous kitchen, food preparation, restaurant, food production, or warehouse experience is preferred but not required
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift
• Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen and food production environment
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
• Dependable, punctual, and willing to work as part of a team
• Flexible availability, including weekends
• Food Handler’s Permit is a plus
