Delivery Truck Driver

Located in Christiansburg, VA

We are seeking a dependable, safety-conscious Truck Driver. This position is responsible for safely transporting furniture and related products to warehouses, showrooms, and other designated locations. The ideal candidate is professional, reliable, attentive to detail, and comfortable handling high-quality furniture with care.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate company trucks in accordance with all federal, state, and local transportation regulations.
• Transport furniture and related products to assigned destinations according to scheduled routes.
• Load, secure, transport, and unload furniture while taking appropriate precautions to prevent damage.
• Inspect products and shipments for visible damage or discrepancies and report concerns promptly.
• Complete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance or safety issues.
• Maintain accurate delivery records, mileage logs, inspection reports, and other required documentation.
• Verify delivery information and obtain required signatures or documentation.
• Communicate professionally with customers, warehouse staff, management, and other team members.
• Assist with loading and unloading as needed, including moving and positioning furniture safely.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional vehicle.
• Follow company safety procedures and proper material-handling practices.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license appropriate for the type of vehicle being operated; CDL required if applicable to assigned equipment.
• Acceptable driving record.
• Previous commercial driving, delivery, or furniture transportation experience preferred.
• Ability to safely operate trucks and related equipment.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and maneuver furniture and other heavy or bulky items.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to protecting products from damage.
• Dependable attendance and ability to follow established delivery schedules.
• Strong communication and customer-service skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to comply with applicable DOT and transportation requirements.

Physical Requirements

This position requires frequent sitting and driving, as well as standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling. The employee must be able to safely handle furniture and other large or heavy items with assistance or appropriate equipment when necessary.

Work Environment

The position involves driving, loading and unloading activities, warehouse environments, customer locations, and exposure to varying weather and road conditions. Some early mornings, extended driving periods, or schedule flexibility may be required depending on delivery needs.
