Surgical Coordinator

A well-established, patient-centered specialty healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Surgical Coordinator to join its growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented healthcare professional who enjoys coordinating surgical procedures and providing exceptional patient care.

 

Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Pay: $25.00–$28.00/hour DOE

 

Please Note: This position is located in the Westlake/Bee Cave area of Austin. Candidates should be comfortable commuting to this location Monday through Friday.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and schedule surgical procedures from start to finish.
• Schedule pre-operative and post-operative appointments.
• Verify insurance eligibility and obtain prior authorizations.
• Coordinate with physicians, surgery centers, hospitals, and patients to ensure all surgical requirements are completed.
• Maintain accurate patient records and surgical schedules within the EMR system.
• Respond to patient questions regarding scheduling, surgical preparation, and appointment changes.
• Resolve scheduling conflicts while providing outstanding customer service.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.

 

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in surgery scheduling, surgical coordination, or a similar healthcare role.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Experience with insurance verification and prior authorizations preferred.
• Proficiency with EMR systems and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
