Janitorial / Custodial Worker

Location: Champaign IL
Pay: $20/hour

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Janitorial/Custodial Worker to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming facility. This position is ideal for someone who takes pride in their work, can manage daily cleaning responsibilities independently, and has previous janitorial, housekeeping, or commercial cleaning experience.

Key Responsibilities

Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors throughout the facility.
Dust furniture, shelves, windowsills, and other surfaces.
Empty trash and maintain clean, organized common areas.
Keep floors and high-traffic areas clean and free of debris.
Use commercial vacuums, mops, brooms, cleaning chemicals, and other standard janitorial equipment.
Complete assigned cleaning duties thoroughly and on schedule.
Identify and report maintenance or safety concerns to management.
Follow proper cleaning and workplace safety procedures.

Qualifications

Previous janitorial, custodial, housekeeping, or commercial cleaning experience preferred.
Experience cleaning offices, schools, churches, commercial facilities, or similar environments.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Good time-management skills and ability to complete tasks on schedule.
Reliable, punctual, and able to work with minimal supervision.
Comfortable performing repetitive cleaning duties throughout the shift.

Physical Requirements

Ability to frequently bend, reach, stand, and walk.
Ability to lift approximately 25–40 lbs.
Ability to push and pull cleaning equipment throughout the facility.
Ability to safely perform repetitive physical cleaning tasks.
