Machining Supervisor
Location: Benton Harbor, MI
Pay: $32.00 per hour
Schedule:1st Shift

We are seeking an experienced Machining Supervisor to lead a skilled team in a precision manufacturing environment in the Benton Harbor area. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned machinist who enjoys mentoring others while remaining hands-on with CNC and manual machining operations.

 

The ideal candidate is a technically strong machining professional with leadership experience who canoversee daily production, support employees, and ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and onschedule.

Responsibilities
Lead, coach, and manage a team of 4–6 machinists
Schedule daily production to meet customer deadlines and delivery commitments
Coordinate with Project Managers regarding production timelines and upcoming work
Collaborate with other department managers to ensure production goals are achieved
Perform employee coaching, conflict resolution, and performance evaluations
Set up, operate, and troubleshoot CNC and manual machining equipment
Read and interpret complex blueprints and technical drawings
Program and edit G-code as required
Select proper tooling and determine appropriate speeds and feeds for a variety of materials
Machine precision radius parts and taper profiles to tight tolerances
Ensure proper machine setup, quality inspections, and process improvements
Learn and oversee plating applications (training provided)
Maintain a safe, organized, and productive work environment

 

Qualifications
Extensive experience operating and setting up both CNC and manual machine tools

Strong understanding of:
Blueprint reading
G-code programming
Machine setup
Tool selection
Speeds and feeds
Radius machining
Taper profiles
Excellent mathematical and problem-solving skills
Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a machine shop
Ability to prioritize production schedules and adapt to changing customer needs
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement
