Production Support Technician

 Eunice, LA | $17.00–$19.50/hr. | Full-Time

 

We are seeking dependable Production Support Technicians to join a steel manufacturing facility in Eunice, LA. This company manufactures and processes steel components in-house for local shipments. In this role, you'll support production by safely moving raw materials, assisting laser and kinetic cutting operations, and preparing finished steel products for fabrication and shipping.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate forklifts, overhead cranes, hoists, and other material handling equipment

  • Transport, stage, load, and unload steel materials throughout the facility

  • Support laser and kinetic cutting operations by supplying raw materials and removing finished parts

  • Prepare, inspect, clean, sort, and stage finished components for fabrication

  • Load, align, and position steel plates for cutting operations

  • Remove scrap materials and finished components without damaging products

  • Operate basic hand tools including grinders, scrapers, wire brushes, hammers, crowbars, and brooms

  • Verify parts against work orders, drawings, and specifications

  • Complete equipment inspections and maintain accurate production records

  • Perform general housekeeping and other assigned duties

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in industrial, construction, manufacturing, or warehouse environments preferred

  • Forklift and overhead crane experience is a plus

  • Comfortable working around heavy equipment and machinery exceeding 10,000 lbs.

  • Ability to read a tape measure

  • Knowledge of basic hand tools

  • Able to perform medium to heavy physical labor

  • Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions while wearing required PPE

  • Clear Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) required

  • Reliable attendance and strong safety awareness

  • High school diploma or GED preferred

  • Steel-toe boots with metatarsal guards are required

Schedule:

  • Monday – Thursday occasional Fridays & Saturdays; 10-12-hour shifts (6:00 AM – 6:00 PM)

  • Day Shift: $17.00/hr.

  • Night Shift: $19.50/hr.

  • Overtime Available
