Job Summary

We're seeking an experienced floor care professional to serve as the Lead Environmental Services Technician for our team. This is a working lead position—not a desk job. You'll work alongside the team while helping coordinate daily activities, setting the standard for quality, and serving as the go-to person on-site.

This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in their work, leads by example, communicates effectively, and isn't afraid to hold themselves and others accountable. Formal management experience is not required, but you should have the confidence and professionalism to provide direction, answer questions, and help keep daily operations running smoothly.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily housekeeping and floor care duties within both office and industrial facilities.
• Operate commercial floor equipment, including auto scrubbers, burnishers, buffers, and carpet extraction equipment.
• Perform floor stripping, waxing, polishing, burnishing, and other specialty floor maintenance.
• Lead by example while assisting the team in completing daily assignments efficiently and safely.
• Help prioritize workloads and ensure assigned areas are completed to company quality standards.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for team members during the shift, answering questions and helping resolve day-to-day issues.
• Train and mentor new employees on proper cleaning techniques, equipment operation, and safety procedures.
• Conduct quality checks to ensure cleaning and floor care standards are consistently met.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding supply needs, staffing concerns, and operational issues.
• Maintain cleaning equipment and report maintenance needs promptly.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of recent commercial housekeeping, environmental services, custodial, or floor care experience.
• Strong experience with commercial floor care, including stripping, waxing, burnishing, buffing, and carpet extraction.
• Experience operating commercial cleaning equipment safely and effectively.
• Ability to work independently while providing direction and support to other team members.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Professional, dependable, and able to remain composed in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical work throughout the shift, including walking, standing, bending, and reaching.
• High attention to detail and commitment to maintaining clean, safe healthcare environments.
