Express Employment Professionals is seeking a Hone Machinist for a well-established precision manufacturing company in Camarillo, CA. This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanically inclined individual with machining experience who enjoys working with precision equipment and producing high-quality products.

Pay: $18.00 - $28.00 per hour DOE

Position Summary

Under minimal supervision, the Hone Machinist is responsible for honing ring gages for pre-lap processing and honing, lapping, and assembling air ring gages. This position involves the fabrication, modification, and repair of precision products and tooling used in a manufacturing environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Inspect materials before and after processing to ensure compliance with work order specifications.

• Hone, lap, and flat grind rings to precise tolerances.

• Grind laps and perform ring edge chamfering and radiusing.

• Operate honing machines, grinders, lathes, and related equipment.

• Perform chrome plating processes safely and accurately.

• Use precision measuring equipment to verify product quality.

• Record time and attendance accurately within the company ERP system.

• Follow all safety procedures, work instructions, and quality standards.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

• Work cooperatively with supervisors and team members.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

• High School Diploma or GED.

• Minimum 1 year of honing, machining, or machine operator experience.

• Experience using precision measuring instruments such as:

  • Micrometers

  • Dial calipers

  • Dial indicators

• Basic math skills.

• Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions in English.

Preferred

• Trade school or technical training in machining or manufacturing.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

• Frequent use of hands and arms.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to focus on precision work.

• Ability to perform close visual inspection and maintain concentration throughout the workday.
