Working in a machine shop environment

 

Key Responsibilities

• Perform MIG and/or stick welding on carbon steel and stainless steel components.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders.
• Fabricate, fit, and weld commercial truck parts and assemblies according to specifications.
• Set up and operate welding machines, grinders, saws, and other fabrication equipment.
• Inspect welds for accuracy, strength, and quality, making repairs as needed.
• Measure and verify dimensions using tape measures, squares, calipers, and other precision tools.
• Work closely with machinists, fabricators, and production personnel to meet production schedules and quality requirements.
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting of welding equipment.
