Accounting Data Entry Specialist

Pay: $23.00 - $27.00 per hour

Schedule: Monday - Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

A growing organization is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Data Entry Specialist to support high-volume invoice processing and accounting operations. This position is ideal for someone with strong accounts payable, bookkeeping, or accounting experience who enjoys working with numbers, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring financial transactions are processed efficiently.

The ideal candidate will be highly organized, deadline-driven, and comfortable working independently while managing a large volume of invoices and financial documentation. Accuracy, accountability, and attention to detail are essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities

• Retrieve vendor invoices from third-party portals and online systems
• Review supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness
• Enter invoices accurately into accounting and business management systems
• Process high volumes of invoices while meeting monthly deadlines
• Route invoices and supporting documents to appropriate departments for approval
• Post customer payments and update account records
• Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
• Assist with account reconciliation and verification activities
• Manage incoming mail and distribute documents as needed
• Support daily office and administrative operations
• Organize, file, and maintain accounting records in accordance with company procedures
• Assist with month-end processing and reporting activities
• Ensure all invoices are processed accurately and on time before month-end deadlines

Performance Expectations

• Process and enter 300+ invoices accurately each month
• Maintain a high level of accuracy with minimal data entry errors
• Ensure timely routing and processing of vendor invoices
• Support efficient document flow between departments
• Maintain organized and audit-ready documentation

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of accounting, bookkeeping, accounts payable, or related experience
• Experience with high-volume invoice processing
• Previous experience retrieving invoices from vendor portals or third-party systems
• Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and financial documentation
• Experience posting payments and maintaining accurate financial records
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
• Strong data entry skills with exceptional attention to detail
• Experience using accounting software, ERP systems, or business management platforms
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
