Job Title: Artisan Cafe Cook / Sandwich Maker
 
Schedule: Monday-Friday, ~ 9am - 3pm 
 
Pay: $20 per hour
 
Description: Our client is looking for a team member responsible for preparing cold sandwiches and salads, hot breakfast items, and coffee beverages at a busy, fast-paced, well-loved café serving the community within a high-end medical park in a beautiful location. They're hoping to find someone with a passion for real food, high standards, and exceptional hospitality. There's also room to grow as they expand.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Prepare made-to-order cold sandwiches expertly - quickly and accurately
  • Prepare made-to-order hot and cold breakfast items (avocado toast, bagels, burrito, sandwiches, etc.)
  • Prepare made-to-order salads
  • Prepare coffee (espresso, latte, mocha, cappuccino, americano, etc.) and tea drinks
  • Occasionally serve as cashier if needed and support a welcoming front-of-house
  • Maintain a spotless, organized workstation and adhere strictly to food safety and hygiene guidelines
Qualifications:
  • 2 years kitchen, prep, deli experience in handling meal time rushes
  • Knife skills
  • Dependable and reliable
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and quality
  • Good communication skills, at least some English required
  • Ability to work independently under high-pressure timing situations
  • TurboChef experience is a plus
  • CA Food Handlers Certificate a plus, but client will pay for the class if needed
Physical Demands:
  • Long periods of standing and moving 
  • Regularly lift and move 40lbs
