Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Bookkeeper / Accountant to join our client's team. This role is responsible for managing day-to-day accounting functions, maintaining accurate financial records, supporting inventory processes, and assisting with office operations. The ideal candidate will have strong bookkeeping experience, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Bookkeeping

  • Process vendor invoices and ensure payments are completed accurately and within established payment terms.
  • Apply customer payments and maintain accurate customer account records.
  • Prepare and process daily deposits.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies as needed.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
  • Assist with month-end accounting activities and financial reporting.

Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable

  • Manage accounts payable processes, including invoice review, coding, and payment processing.
  • Monitor accounts receivable and ensure customer payments are applied correctly.
  • Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies and account issues.
  • Maintain positive relationships with vendors and customers regarding payment inquiries.

Inventory & Transaction Processing

  • Receive inventory into the point-of-sale system and verify accuracy.
  • Review daily sales transactions and ensure proper financial recording.
  • Assist with inventory tracking, purchase orders, and receiving processes.
  • Maintain accurate inventory and financial records.

Administrative Support

  • Organize and maintain financial records and documentation in an audit-ready format.
  • Answer incoming phone calls and assist with general office operations.
  • Collaborate with management and corporate teams on accounting procedures and reporting.
  • Support additional administrative and operational tasks as needed.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of bookkeeping, accounting, or related financial experience.
  • Experience with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable required.
  • Strong bookkeeping, reconciliation, and financial recordkeeping skills.
  • Experience working with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with inventory management, purchase orders, receiving, or point-of-sale systems highly preferred.
  • Strong data entry skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
