Grinder/Polisher

Job Summary: A national finishing company that primarily supports the aerospace industry, where quality and attention to detail are of the utmost importance, is seeking a Shop Production Associate to assist with refurbishing industrial equipment. This role involves disassembling equipment, cleaning and preparing surfaces for refinishing, and supporting various production processes within a shop environment.
Grinder/Polisher Responsibilities include:
• Scraping residue and build up from industrial equipment
• Disassembling large-scale industrial machines and components
• Washing parts and sorting reusable components from scrap materials
• Loading and securing products into sandblasting equipment and blast booths
• Hand sanding and grinding surfaces to prepare them for painting and refinishing
• Operating surface blasting equipment using materials such as sand and steel shot/beads
• Using pallet jacks and dollies to safely move large-scale equipment and components throughout the shop
• Inspecting products for quality and workmanship throughout the process
• Packing and preparing finished products for shipment
• Working collaboratively with a team in a production shop environment
• Carefully masking and protecting surfaces prior to painting and finishing operations
Schedule & Pay:
• 1st Shift 7am -4pm M-F with potential for over time on weekends but is rare
• $20.00/HR
Grinder/Polisher Qualifications:
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in an industrial or shop environment
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work with tools and equipment
• Ability to lift 40 lbs. consistently and up to 75 lbs. with assistance as needed
• High level of attention to detail and quality standards
• Experience using hand tools and power tools
• Experience operating surface blasting equipment using sand, steel shot, or similar media
• Strong problem-solving and deductive reasoning skills
• Self-directed with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good spatial awareness and the ability to safely handle, maneuver, and position large equipment and machinery in a manufacturing environment
