Position Summary

The Box Truck Driver is responsible for operating a 26-foot box truck to transport and deliver products, materials, and equipment safely and efficiently. The driver will load and unload cargo, inspect vehicles, maintain accurate delivery records, and provide excellent customer service while adhering to all company policies and transportation regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Safely operate a 26-foot box truck in accordance with state and federal transportation laws.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any maintenance or safety concerns.
• Load, secure, and unload cargo to prevent damage during transit.
• Deliver products and materials to customers, job sites, warehouses, and other designated locations.
• Verify deliveries against invoices, manifests, and shipping documents.
• Obtain customer signatures and complete delivery documentation accurately.
• Plan and follow assigned routes to ensure timely deliveries and pickups.
• Maintain communication with dispatch and management regarding delivery status and potential delays.
• Keep the truck clean, organized, and presentable.
• Follow all company safety procedures and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
• Assist with warehouse duties as needed, including inventory management, stocking, and material handling.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Minimum of 1 year of commercial driving or delivery experience preferred.
• Ability to safely operate a 26-foot box truck in various weather and traffic conditions.
• Strong knowledge of traffic laws and safe driving practices.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Strong communication and customer service abilities.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50-100 pounds with or without assistance.
• Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, and climbing in and out of the truck.
