Are you detail-oriented, analytical, and passionate about delivering exceptional customer service? We are seeking an experienced Escrow Specialist to join our mortgage servicing team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing escrow-related functions, including property taxes, mortgage insurance, insurance tracking, and escrow analysis. Your work will directly contribute to creating a seamless borrower experience while ensuring compliance with investor, state, and federal requirements.

What You'll Do

Property Tax Administration

  • Set up and maintain tax lines within servicing and vendor systems.
  • Process, review, and reconcile property tax disbursements.
  • Research and resolve property tax inquiries and discrepancies.
  • Monitor vendor reports and agency requirements to ensure compliance.
  • Resolve exception and control reports and identify root causes.
  • Assist with vendor billing reconciliation and documentation updates.

Mortgage Insurance Management

  • Process and reconcile mortgage insurance premium disbursements for FHA, FNMA, FHLMC, VA, and USDA loans.
  • Investigate and resolve mortgage insurance inquiries and exceptions.
  • Review and process mortgage insurance termination requests.
  • Ensure compliance with investor guidelines and servicing requirements.

Insurance Administration

  • Respond to insurance-related inquiries from vendors and internal departments.
  • Monitor insurance policies and address open, expired, or missing coverage.
  • Manage lender-placed hazard and flood insurance processes.
  • Coordinate insurance cancellations and premium payments.
  • Handle flood zone disputes, document retrievals, ACH setups, and loss draft deposits.

Escrow Analysis & Account Management

  • Conduct escrow analyses to ensure accurate borrower payments and minimize payment shocks.
  • Establish and manage escrow accounts for lender-placed insurance.
  • Process escrow setup and cancellation requests.
  • Support escrow analysis requirements for Bankruptcy Proof of Claim filings.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives and special projects.

What We're Looking For

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of mortgage servicing, escrow administration, accounting, or related experience.
  • Working knowledge of escrow procedures, property taxes, insurance servicing, and mortgage investor guidelines.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong accounting and reconciliation skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to service excellence.
  • Previous Private Mortgage Insurance (PMI) and/or Property Tax experience is highly preferred.
  • Candidates should possess a solid understanding of property taxes, including tax disbursements, tax reporting, and escrow impacts.
  • Experience with mortgage servicing platforms and escrow vendor portals is a plus.

Technical Skills

  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with MSP or FICS Mortgage Servicer preferred.
  • Comfortable using email, internet applications, and standard office equipment.
