Summary:
The Large Tangential Machine Set-Up and Operator is responsible for configuring, operating, and monitoring automatic forming and assembling machines to produce quality parts while following safety and production standards.
Responsibilities:
  • Configure and operate electrically and air-powered automatic forming and assembling machines.
  • Load materials and assemble parts according to prints and work instructions.
  • Set up equipment by adjusting dies, sensors, and machine settings while following lockout/tagout and safety procedures.
  • Inspect production parts, document inspection results, and monitor production schedules.
  • Perform periodic equipment checks, report adverse die conditions, troubleshoot issues, and operate secondary machines such as stampers, rivet guns, reamers, and balancing machines.
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a machine operator in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to use tools and perform simple repairs.
  • Working knowledge of automated equipment and measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.
  • Ability to read blueprints, work instructions, and shop orders with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift at least 25 lbs. and sit or stand for extended periods; technical degree is a plus.
