Salary: $27.50- $29.50/ hr.

Express Employment Guelph is recruiting on behalf of a well-established steel fabricator in Guelph for a Heavy Forklift Yard Operator. This is a full-time opportunity with long-term potential for the right candidate. The role is primarily forklift operation (~95%) in an outdoor yard environment year-round.

Pay: CA$27.50-CA$29.50 per hour.

Shift: Days- 6:55 am- 4:25 pm Monday to Friday (On Friday's employees get to leave by 3:30 pm).

Job Type: Full-time with potential for hire.

Responsibilities:

• Offload inbound shipments and manage material flow to and from the fabrication shop
• Strap and secure structural steel loads to trailers in compliance with MTO requirements
• Operate a heavy-duty 12-ton multidirectional forklift designed for handling long structural steel loads (primary duty)
• Use an overhead crane to move heavy structural components
• Follow all safety protocols and procedures

Qualifications:

• Forklift experience required; experience with heavy industrial or multidirectional forklifts is a strong asset.
• Overhead crane experience is an asset (training available)
• Must be comfortable working outdoors in all weather, year-round 
• Must be able to use a tape measure in both imperial and metric
• Must be able to lift 50-70 lbs
• AZ licence is an asset but not required
