Tool Repair Specialist

 

Our client in Rockford, a leader in metal manufacturing is seeking an experienced Tool Repair Specialist to join their team. The Tool Repair Specialist is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and refurbishing a wide variety of production tooling and equipment used in fastener manufacturing. This position ensures that all tools, dies, and fixtures are in proper working condition to support consistent production quality and efficiency. This position works Mon-Fri 7AM-3:30PM and pay is dependent on experience. Job Responsibilities: 

• Read blueprints and use necessary measuring devices to make, or modify existing tooling, tools for new or old job prints.
• Make sure tools are sharpened and tool holders in good working condition before being placed back on shelf or in tool drawers. Repairs or requisition replacement parts, tooling or hardware as needs to maintain adequate stock.
• Check tooling in and out of tool room.
• Set up and operate all tool room machines/lathes for specific form tool, tap, drills, or holder for grinding.

Job Qualifications: 

• Preferred heading experience in a Fastener Industry
• Communicating with Supervisors, Peers, or Subordinates — Providing information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person. Remain calm in stressful situations.
• Prioritize, Organize, and accomplish work efficiently. 
• IATF 16949 knowledge.
• Move quickly from task to task with minimal errors and/or omissions.
• Deductive Reasoning — The ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
• Adjust machine components to regulate speeds, pressures, and temperatures, and amounts, dimensions, and flow of materials. 
• Knowledge of Basic Maintenance of Heading
