Director of Facilities

Location: Honolulu, HI
Salary: $70,000 – $100,000 annually
Schedule: Full-time • On-call (holidays, weekends, emergencies)

Express Employment has partnered with high-rise healthcare facility serving residents in a regulated care environment. This is a hands-on leadership role. You’ll oversee building operations, maintenance, and environmental services while leading a team of ~20 staff across maintenance, housekeeping, and security.

The ideal candidate brings healthcare or long-term care industry experience, understands regulatory requirements, and is comfortable balancing team leadership with hands-on problem solving. You’ll work closely with leaders and ensure the facility runs safely, efficiently, and in compliance at all times.

What You’ll Do

Oversee daily facility operations, maintenance, and preventative programs
Lead and supervise maintenance, EVS, and support staff (~20 employees)
Ensure compliance with healthcare, safety, and regulatory standards
Manage building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, life safety)
Handle on-call emergencies and perform hands-on repairs as needed
Maintain schedules, inspections, and operational systems
Coordinate vendors, inspections, and facility improvements

What We’re Looking For

Background in healthcare, skilled nursing, or long-term care strongly preferred
Experience managing teams in facility or maintenance operations
Hands-on maintenance or general handyman experience
Strong understanding of regulatory compliance and safety standards
Ability to lead, prioritize, and respond in a fast-paced environment
Valid driver’s license
