Pay: Starting at $13.00/hour, depending on experience

Job Summary

The Wooden Crate Builder / Packaging Technician is responsible for constructing custom wooden crates used to safely package and ship sign products. This role involves measuring, cutting, assembling, and securing wood materials to protect finished signage during transport. The position requires attention to detail, basic carpentry skills, and the ability to follow specifications and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Build custom wooden crates and packaging for sign products of various sizes

• Measure and cut lumber according to specifications

• Assemble crates using hand tools and power tools such as saws, nail guns, and drills

• Ensure crates are structurally sound and meet shipping requirements

• Wrap, cushion, and secure signs and materials to prevent damage during transit

• Read and interpret work orders, drawings, and packaging instructions

• Maintain a clean and organized workspace

• Follow all safety procedures and guidelines

Qualifications

• Basic carpentry or woodworking experience preferred

• Ability to safely use hand and power tools

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in measurements

• Ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods

• Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team

Preferred Skills

• Experience packaging or shipping large or fragile items

• Familiarity with freight or commercial crating procedures

• Forklift experience is a plus

Work Environment

• Warehouse or production shop setting

• Exposure to sawdust, noise, and industrial equipment

• May require lifting 50+ lbs
