Express Employment Professionals is hiring a Part-Time Communicable Disease Case Investigator for a local Flathead Valley organization. This role is ideal for someone passionate about public health, detail-oriented, and committed to protecting community well-being.

Schedule

24–30 hours per week
All work must be completed during regular business hours (Monday–Friday)

Position Overview

In this role, you will support public health efforts by assisting with disease monitoring, investigation, and prevention. You will work closely with healthcare providers, public health officials, and community members to help limit the spread of communicable diseases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate public health reporting and response within the Rabies Control Program
  • Investigate and follow up on reportable communicable diseases
  • Participate in disease surveillance, case investigations, and outbreak response efforts
  • Interview and counsel individuals at risk for or diagnosed with communicable diseases
  • Communicate with medical providers and key stakeholders to ensure proper follow-up
  • Provide education, outreach, and consultation to the community on communicable diseases
  • Prepare, submit, and maintain detailed reports for local, state, and federal agencies
  • Track and report outbreak findings and submit required reports to Montana DPHHS within established timelines
  • Attend meetings with department staff and healthcare partners to provide updates
  • Refer complex cases or issues to supervisors or epidemiologists
  • Assist with additional communicable disease-related work as assigned
