Part-Time Bookkeeper
Location: Salinas, CA
Schedule: Part-Time, 15–20 hours per week
Pay Rate: $22–$30/hr DOE

We are currently seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Part-Time Bookkeeper to support a local business in Salinas. The ideal candidate will have prior bookkeeping experience, strong organizational skills, and proficiency with QuickBooks.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Process invoices and maintain accurate financial records
  • Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Maintain and update QuickBooks records daily
  • Prepare basic financial reports and spreadsheets
  • Receive cash, check, and credit card payments
  • Log deposit activity
  • Scan deposit information to YPTC
  • Scan and organize invoices received via mail
  • Print and mail checks
  • Place office and operational supply orders
  • Maintain organized filing systems and documentation
  • Communicate professionally with vendors and internal staff
  • Support general administrative and accounting duties as needed

Qualifications:

  • Previous bookkeeping or accounting support experience required
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks required
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality with financial information
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in small business accounting
  • Associate degree or accounting coursework preferred but not required
