Facilities and Grounds Technician Job Summary:

Facilities and Grounds Technician Responsibilities:

• Ensure excellent standards of cleanliness of facilities are maintained
• Clean office building – public spaces only
• Work with Home supervisors to clean and maintain public areas and resident bathrooms
• Clean all garages and communal workspace 
• Clean vehicles and help with weekly/monthly maintenance 
• Maintain grounds and building exterior
• Respond promptly to DHMIN facility emergencies 
• Troubleshoot minor maintenance problems involving electrical, structural, plumbing, and equipment repair and possible replacement 
• Perform preventative maintenance duties – including but not limited to caulking windows, doors, or other facilities
• Perform non-emergency facility responsibilities during normal business hours.  Including Plumbing (fixing leaks, drains, toilets, etc.) electrical (changing lightbulbs, alarms, etc..), or basic carpentry (doorknobs and locks, holes in walls, etc.) 
• Maintain safe sidewalks and entrances during inclement weather.  Removal of snow from sidewalks and entrances of all DHMIN properties
• Paint and maintain interior and exterior walls
• Provide emergency support as needed for off-hour facility/grounds emergencies
• Maintain proper logs for expenses, assets, and all DHMIN-owned properties and equipment 

Schedule & Pay: 

• 1st 7:30am-3:30pm with overtime and on call duties as needed

• $18.00 - $20.00/HR depending on experience

Facilities and Grounds Technician Qualifications:

• Must have a High School diploma or equivalent
• Must have valid Drivers License
• Able to use email, phones, and basic word, and excel programs as necessary 
• Have knowledge of standard practices and tools used in the work responsibilities
• Have knowledge of safety practices and procedures related to the trades 
• Have knowledge of basic math to add, subtract, multiply and divide
• Able to bend, stoop, walk, climb ladders, and lift over 45 lbs., and/or be physically active throughout the scheduled shift
