Salary: $30–$35/hour | 3-Month Contrac

We are currently seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant for a contract opportunity with a well-established organization located in the southwest Oklahoma City metro area. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and possesses strong analytical and Excel skills.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in general accounting functions, financial reporting, reconciliations, and data analysis, along with the ability to work independently and communicate effectively across departments. Advanced Excel proficiency is a key component of this role.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and reports
• Perform account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
• Analyze financial data and generate reports for leadership review
• Support budgeting and forecasting activities
• Maintain general ledger accuracy and integrity
• Review and process journal entries
• Utilize Excel extensively for reporting, tracking, reconciliations, and financial analysis
• Assist with audits and ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls
• Collaborate cross-functionally with internal departments as needed

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
• 3+ years of accounting experience required
• Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are required, including experience with formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and financial reporting functions
• Experience with accounting software and ERP systems preferred
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively
• Excellent communication and professionalism
