Position Overview
Nationally recognized manufacturing facilities in the Champaign and Rantoul area are hiring Advanced Industrial Maintenance Technicians for high-level troubleshooting and repair of automated production equipment. This is a true multi-craft maintenance role requiring strong electrical, mechanical, PLC, hydraulic, and pneumatic troubleshooting experience in fast-paced industrial environments. These openings support large-scale manufacturing operations with complex equipment, robotics, automated systems, and critical uptime demands.

Key Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair complex electrical and mechanical equipment failures
• Diagnose issues involving PLCs, controls, robotics, motor controls, VFDs, and automated systems
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, ladder logic, blueprints, P&IDs, and technical manuals
• Perform advanced troubleshooting on hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, gearboxes, drives, and servo systems
• Support automated production lines, robotic cells, and manufacturing equipment
• Perform preventative maintenance (PMs) and predictive maintenance activities
• Complete machine setups, changeovers, rebuilds, and equipment installations
• Support root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to reduce downtime
• Utilize CMMS systems to document maintenance activities and work orders
• Follow LOTO procedures and industrial safety standards
• Mentor junior maintenance technicians as needed

Qualifications

• 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience in manufacturing or production environments
• Strong multi-craft maintenance background required
• Advanced electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills
• PLC troubleshooting experience required
• Experience with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi, Fanuc, or similar control systems preferred
• Strong understanding of:
  • 3-phase electrical systems
  • Motor controls
  • VFDs
  • Servo drives
  • Hydraulics
  • Pneumatics
• Ability to troubleshoot independently with minimal supervision
• Comfortable working in fast-paced manufacturing environments with critical uptime demands

Preferred Qualifications

• Robotics experience including FANUC, ABB, KUKA, or Yaskawa
• Extrusion equipment experience
• Welding, fabrication, machining, lathe, or mill experience
• CMMS experience including SAP PM, Maximo, Fiix, or eMaint
• Maintenance certifications, journeyman card, OSHA certifications, or technical schooling
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing, TPM, or Reliability Maintenance programs
