Position Overview
A manufacturing facility in the Charleston area is seeking a Quality Engineer Intern to support quality assurance, process improvement, and manufacturing operations initiatives. This role offers hands-on experience working directly with engineering, production, and quality teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and eager to gain real-world exposure to continuous improvement and lean manufacturing practices. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineering student looking to build technical experience and contribute to impactful projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with inspections, audits, and non-conformance investigations
• Collect, analyze, and interpret quality and production data
• Support troubleshooting efforts related to manufacturing and process issues
• Participate in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives
• Assist with process documentation including SOPs and work instructions
• Support process validation studies and production trial runs
• Work closely with engineering, production, and quality teams to maintain compliance with internal and customer standards
• Assist with additional technical and operational projects as assigned

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or related field
• Preferably second-year standing or higher
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities
• Proficient with Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Comfortable working in a hands-on manufacturing environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Basic understanding of manufacturing processes
• Exposure to lean manufacturing or continuous improvement concepts
• Prior internship, lab, or manufacturing experience is a plus
