Finishing Operator

Salary: $17.00/HR

Finishing Operator Job Summary: A graphics and printing company in Grand Rapids is looking for a Finishing Operator for their organization. 

Finishing Operator Requirements: 

• Reads instructions on job ticket to determine type of assembly required and quantity needed
• Performs assigned activity to produce a completed product to include setting up, drilling, stitching, shrink wrapping, taping, cutting, collating, inserting, gluing, etc. according to departmental procedures and customer’s needs
• Inserts illustrated pages, extra sheets and collated sets into loose-leaf binders, applies labels to envelopes or poly wrapped bundles by hand or machine
• Examines finished material to assure that pages are bound in numerical order according to job tickets and/or verify and inspect required outsource ancillary products
• Examines for defects such as ink spots, torn/loose, uneven pages and damaged product

Schedule and Pay: 

• 1st Shift 7am-3:30pm Monday-Friday with overtime as needed
• $17.00/hr

Finishing Operator Qualifications:

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Ability to read and understand linear measurements using a Certified Calibrated Ruler in both Metric and Imperial units
• Basic computer skills
