Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Human Resources Generalist to serve as the primary point of contact for HR functions. This role is responsible for administering HR policies, payroll, and employee benefits while ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations. The HR Generalist supports employees and management across a wide range of HR activities and helps maintain a positive, compliant, and efficient workplace.


Responsibilities

  • Administer company HR policies, procedures, and programs in compliance with corporate objectives and applicable laws
  • Manage payroll administration and related documentation
  • Administer employee benefits programs including health insurance, life insurance, COBRA, FMLA, disability, and other offerings
  • Respond to employee benefit inquiries and resolve issues related to coverage, eligibility, and payments
  • Coordinate benefits enrollment, changes, and onboarding for eligible employees
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR files
  • Verify I-9 documentation and ensure ongoing compliance
  • Conduct exit interviews and communicate findings to management
  • Identify employee relations issues and provide recommendations to management
  • Conduct workplace investigations related to harassment or policy violations
  • Submit and manage background checks and investigation requests
  • Administer unemployment and disability claims
  • Coordinate return-to-work, accommodations, and light-duty assignments with managers and healthcare providers
  • Review benefit plans for compliance and cost-effectiveness
  • Communicate HR and benefits updates to employees
  • Prepare HR reports, metrics, and documentation as needed
  • Ensure required labor law postings are current and properly displayed
  • Maintain HR supplies and support general department needs
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
  • 2–5 years of HR experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong knowledge of HR laws, regulations, and compliance requirements
  • Experience with payroll and benefits administration preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Bilingual skills are a plus
