CNC Machinist Job Summary:

We are looking to fill a CNC Machinist at a global contract manufacturer for medical devices in Kentwood. As a Machinist in our medical device manufacturing facility, you will play a vital role in setting up and operating various machining equipment, which may include Swiss type lathes, mills, mill-turn equipment, centerless grinders, or multi-axis grinders. Your responsibilities will involve the production of intricate parts that meet stringent quality and safety standards, contributing to the creation of life-saving medical devices.

CNC Machinist Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate a range of machining equipment, such as Swiss type lathes, mills, mill-turn equipment, centerless grinders, or multi-axis grinders.
• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to ensure precise part production.
• Select and install tooling, work holding, and fixtures appropriate for each job.
• Perform routine equipment maintenance and troubleshoot to maintain optimal machine performance.
• Monitor machine operations, make necessary adjustments, and inspect parts to ensure quality and accuracy.
• Adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines within the manufacturing environment.
• Document work performed and maintain comprehensive production records.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency and quality.

Schedule & Pay: 

• 1st Shift 6:00am-4:00pm Monday-Friday with overtime as needed
• $20.00-26.00/HR DOE

 CNC Machinist Qualifications:

• Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints.
• Strong understanding of machining principles, including tool selection, speeds, and feeds.
• Knowledge of precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, etc.).
• Basic computer skills for data entry and equipment monitoring.
• Exceptional attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and a commitment to quality.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Proven experience as a Machinist in a production setting, particularly with Swiss type lathes, mills, mill-turn equipment, centerless grinders, or multi-axis grinders.
• High school diploma or equivalent. Technical or vocational training in machining is preferred.
