2nd Shift Shipping Associate

 

Our client, a full-service industrial fastener distributor and supply chain partner, in Machesney Park is looking to hire a Shipping Associate to join their growing team. This role supports daily warehouse operations by ensuring timely order fulfillment, maintaining inventory accuracy, and delivering high-quality service to both internal teams and customers. Hours are Mon-Thurs or Tues-Fri 3:00PM-1:00AM and pay is $18/hour. Job Responsibilities:

• Pick, pack, and prepare customer orders for shipment using shipping systems and documentation
• Utilize scanners, scales, and labeling systems to ensure accurate shipments
• Process shipments through carriers such as UPS, FedEx, DHL, and LTL freight
• Read and interpret order details, shipping instructions, and paperwork
• Handle expedited or “hot” orders and communicate with internal teams as needed
• Troubleshoot shipping discrepancies, delays, or technical issues
• Maintain organization and cleanliness of shipping and warehouse areas
• Assist with inventory control and general warehouse tasks as needed
• Safely operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the distribution center

Job Qualifications: 

• High school diploma or GED required
• 1–2+ years of shipping, warehouse, or distribution experience preferred
• Experience using RF scanners and warehouse management systems is a plus
• Ability to read, count, and verify order details with accuracy
• Strong attention to detail and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment
• Strong communication and customer service skills
