We are partnering with a well-established Japanese restaurant concept in Honolulu to find their next Assistant Kitchen Manager. What You'll Be Doing:

• Lead and manage daily kitchen operations across AM and PM shifts, keeping quality, cleanliness, and guest experience at the forefront
• Work alongside the Kitchen Manager to set prep levels, maintain recipe standards, and keep the line running smoothly during peak periods
• Keep a close eye on food and labor costs, identify inefficiencies, and take action to hit financial targets
• Build and coach a strong back-of-house team through hands-on mentorship and consistent accountability
• Ensure all food safety, sanitation, and compliance standards are met on every shift
• Handle opening and closing responsibilities, POS management, and cash handling
• Serve as the bridge between front of house and back of house to keep service flowing without disruption
• Put systems in place to reduce waste, protect inventory, and support overall kitchen profitability

What We're Looking For:

• At least 3 years of management experience in a restaurant setting - Japanese restaurant preferred 
• A proven track record of leading and developing kitchen teams
• Comfortable working in a multicultural environment
• Bilingual in English and Japanese is a strong plus
• Solid understanding of food safety regulations, OSHA standards, and sanitation practices
• Financially savvy with experience managing food and labor costs to budget
• Strong communicator who leads by example and keeps the team accountable
• Familiar with restaurant POS and management software
• Reliable transportation and full schedule flexibility, including weekends and holidays
• Physically able to handle the demands of a high-volume kitchen environment
