1st Shift - Shift Lead(Supervisor)

Located in Lafayette, IN

Salary: $24.50/hour

Job Title: Shift Lead 

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 6AM - 2:30PM, occasional Saturdays

Position Summary

The Shift Lead plays a key role in overseeing day-to-day operations of onsite waste and by-product management systems. This includes supervising team members, ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards, and maintaining strong communication with both client personnel and internal teams. The Shift Lead is expected to support ongoing improvements, provide training and education, and deliver exceptional service in a fast-paced, industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise onsite staff and oversee all daily operations related to waste handling, sorting, and processing.

• Conduct regular inspections of equipment and operational areas to ensure safety, compliance, and efficiency.

• Complete and submit accurate waste-tracking forms and daily activity reports.

• Maintain a professional presence while interacting with client employees, vendors, and subcontractors.

• Provide guidance and training on recycling, reuse, and waste reduction initiatives.

• Assist with the implementation and auditing of new processes or procedures.

• Collaborate with client personnel and internal teams to meet service expectations.

• Support additional projects or business development initiatives as assigned by the Program Manager.

Requirements

• Education: High school diploma or GED required.

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of supervisory or team lead experience, preferably in an industrial, environmental, or logistics setting.

• Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Able to manage multiple priorities and solve problems independently

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel

  • Basic understanding of EPA, DOT, and OSHA regulations preferred

  • Ability to lift up to 60 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks (standing, bending, squatting)

  • Must be able to wear appropriate PPE
