Service Technician - Electric Signs - Class C License

We are hiring a hands-on Service Technician to install, maintain, and repair electric signage across a central IL service area. This role is primarily field-based, working with standard 120V circuitry, lighting components, and signage systems. You will operate a bucket truck, troubleshoot issues on-site, and complete service calls independently after training.

Key Responsibilities:

• Travel to customer sites within a 75-mile radius to service and repair electric signs
• Operate bucket truck equipment to access elevated signage up to 85 feet
• Diagnose and repair lighting systems including ballasts, fluorescent lamps, and wiring components
• Perform basic electrical troubleshooting on 120V circuits specific to signage systems
• Complete service calls, document work performed, and communicate updates to the team
• Assist with in-shop prep work and repairs when not in the field
• Follow all safety procedures related to driving, equipment use, and working at heights

Qualifications:

• Valid Class C driver’s license with a clean driving record 
• Experience operating or willingness to learn bucket truck operation
• Basic electrical knowledge (120V systems, wiring, lighting components)
• Ability to work at heights up to 85 feet
• Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort with hands-on work
• Ability to work independently in the field after training
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in outdoor conditions

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience with electric signage, lighting systems, or service technician roles
• Experience with neon signage or willingness to learn specialized repairs
• Previous experience driving work trucks or service vehicles

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

This role involves a mix of field and shop work. Technicians regularly work outdoors in varying weather conditions and at elevated heights using a bucket truck. The position requires standing, lifting, climbing, and frequent movement throughout the day.
