Shift: Must be flexible to work either shift, depending on operational needs
Hours: Days: 6:45 AM – 3:15 PM | Afternoons: 3:30 PM – 2:00 AM

Express Employment Professionals Guelph is hiring on behalf of a reputable company in Stratford, ON for a Machinist. This company fabricates and assembles components for heavy trucks, defense, and off-road equipment.
Position Summary
The Machinist is responsible for setting up and operating CNC machines to perform various tasks such as drilling, milling, and turning. This role requires a combination of technical skill, precision, and problem-solving ability to ensure products meet quality standards and specifications.
The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, experience in precision machining, and the ability to interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
Key Responsibilities
· Maintain equipment by completing preventative maintenance (PMs) and requesting repairs as needed
· Troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical and operational issues
· Prepare and load/set up raw material, weldments, or castings in machines
· Program and run CNC code
· Use various equipment and tools to create and repair tooling, including grinders, welding equipment, machining equipment, and overhead cranes
· Maintain strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work
· Manufacture parts according to prints and technical drawings
Equipment, Tools & Technology Used
· Measuring instruments such as micrometers, verniers, calipers, height gauges, and other precision tools
· 3- and 4-axis CNC machines
· Lathes
Requirements
· Licensed Machinist (preferred)
· In-depth understanding of fabrication processes
· 2–5 years of experience in a custom machining environment
· Proficient in reading blueprints and technical sketches
· Experience with 3- and 4-axis CNC operation and programming
· Knowledge of CNC controls (e.g., Fanuc, Haas, Tosnuc, Siemens)
· Ability to read and edit G-code as needed
· Strong communication skills for collaborating with team members and supervisors
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team
