SMT Operator - Surface Mount Operator

Job Title: SMT Operator (Surface Mount Operator)
Location: Ventura County, CA
Schedule: Full-Time, Non-Exempt (ITAR Qualified)
Pay: $23 – $28/hour (DOE)

Overview:
A growing electronics manufacturing company is seeking an experienced SMT Operator to support PCB assembly operations. This role is responsible for setup, programming, operation, and maintenance of surface mount equipment, along with inspection and manual assembly tasks. The ideal candidate has hands-on SMT experience and strong attention to detail in a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities:
• Set up, program, and operate surface mount pick-and-place machines
• Operate stencil printers (automatic and semi-automatic) and reflow ovens
• Perform routine maintenance on SMT equipment
• Conduct manual component placement and visual inspection
• Read and interpret drawings, Gerber files, and assembly documentation
• Solder components for thru-hole and SMT PCB assemblies
• Identify components using part numbers and descriptions
• Monitor production and communicate any issues related to PCBA processes

Qualifications & Skills:
• Experience with SMT machine operation and setup
• Knowledge of electronic components and PCB assembly processes
• Soldering experience (SMT and/or thru-hole)
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and Gerber files
• Familiarity with measuring equipment
• Strong communication skills in English (reading and writing)
• Experience with Siemens machines is a plus

Experience Requirements:
• 2+ years of SMT or related electronics manufacturing experience preferred
• Experience in a contract manufacturing environment is a plus

Education:
• High School Diploma or equivalent required

Work Environment / Physical Requirements:
• Ability to lift at least 25 lbs.
• Must be able to use both hands and perform repetitive tasks
• Ability to stand for extended periods in a production environment
