Purchasing Assistant (Construction Supply)
Location: Ocala, FL
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Pay: $20.00 – $25.00 per hour

Overview

We are a growing supplier of interior finishes for both new construction and renovation projects. Our team manages a wide range of products, from small hardware items to large-scale materials such as cabinetry and stone countertops.

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Purchasing Assistant to support our purchasing operations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with data, tracking orders, and solving problems. Prior purchasing experience is not required—we are willing to train the right candidate. Success in this position requires accuracy, reliability, and the ability to manage both detailed tasks and larger operational priorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain daily purchasing reports and tracking logs
  • Accurately enter and manage purchasing data in internal systems
  • Communicate with vendors to confirm orders, pricing, and delivery timelines
  • Track shipments and follow up on delayed or missing materials
  • Assist with coordinating orders across a large inventory of SKUs
  • Anticipate project material needs to prevent shortages or delays
  • Identify and resolve order or delivery issues proactively
  • Provide general administrative support to the purchasing department

Qualifications

  • Experience in purchasing, procurement, or inventory management
  • Prefers experience in construction, building materials, or supply distribution
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Comfortable working with spreadsheets and data entry
  • Excellent follow-up and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proactive mindset with the ability to anticipate issues
  • Proficient computer skills, including Excel or similar tools
  • Ability to stay organized while handling large volumes of product information
  • Requires Drug Test and Background check
