Job Title: Painter

Local Contractor looking for individuals to assist with Painting and Plaster work.

Key Responsibilities

Surface Preparation & Application

• Prepare surfaces by scraping, sanding, filling holes, and cleaning
• Apply paint, stains, varnishes, and other finishes using:
  • Brushes
  • Rollers
  • Sprayers
• Mix and match colors to achieve desired shades

Site Protection & Repairs

• Protect surrounding areas using drop cloths and masking tape
• Repair cracks, holes, and damaged surfaces prior to painting

Safety & Maintenance

• Follow safety guidelines when working with chemicals and at heights
• Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition
• Clean work areas after completing tasks

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred, not always required)
• Previous painting experience or apprenticeship
• Knowledge of safety standards (e.g., chemical handling, ladder use)

Job Title: Plasterer

Job Summary

Plasterers apply plaster, cement, or similar materials to walls, ceilings, and structures to create smooth or textured surfaces. The role involves preparing surfaces, mixing materials, and finishing surfaces for both functional and decorative purposes.

Key Responsibilities

Surface Preparation & Material Handling

• Prepare surfaces by cleaning, leveling, and applying bonding agents
• Mix plaster, cement, or stucco to the correct consistency

Application & Finishing

• Apply coats of plaster to walls, ceilings, and partitions
• Smooth and level surfaces using trowels and floats
• Create decorative textures and finishes as required

Repairs & Installation

• Repair damaged plaster, cracks, and holes
• Install drywall and apply finishing coats (role-dependent)

Safety & Work Environment

• Work from scaffolding or ladders as needed
• Ensure all work meets safety and quality standards

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
• Apprenticeship or on-the-job training
• Experience in construction or finishing trades
• Knowledge of safety procedures and building standards
