Express Employment Professionals is recruiting an experienced Commercial Refrigeration Technician / HVAC-R Field Service Technician for a field service opportunity covering Connecticut, New York and New Jersey.

This is NOT a residential HVAC position.

Qualified candidates must have 2–3 or more years of commercial or industrial refrigeration experience and a valid Connecticut D-2 license.

The Refrigeration Field Technician will be responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, repair and installation of commercial and industrial HVAC/R and refrigeration equipment at customer locations throughout the tri-state area.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform commercial and industrial HVAC/R equipment maintenance, repair and installation
• Service and maintain refrigeration and HVAC/R systems and related equipment
• Work with equipment including primary and secondary chillers, pumps, fans and related components
• Troubleshoot HVAC/R and refrigeration equipment in the field
• Work with AC/DC electrical systems and HVAC/R equipment components
• Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, electrical codes and applicable regulations
• Perform refrigerant recovery and reclamation in accordance with EPA regulations
• Install and maintain refrigerant piping and refrigeration equipment
• Maintain accurate field service records, including labor hours and materials used
• Communicate with Service Managers, Dispatchers, Office Management and General Management to resolve customer requests and service issues
• Maintain responsibility for assigned company vehicle and coordinate required service, repairs and maintenance

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Connecticut D-2 license REQUIRED
• 2–3+ years of commercial or industrial refrigeration technician experience REQUIRED
• Commercial/industrial experience — not residential HVAC
• Knowledge and experience with installation, operation, maintenance and repair of HVAC/R and refrigeration equipment
• Understanding of AC/DC electrical systems
• Ability to troubleshoot HVAC/R equipment and components
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints
• Understanding of applicable mechanical and electrical codes and regulations
• Refrigerant recovery and reclamation certification as required by EPA regulations
• Knowledge of refrigerant piping installation and/or equipment maintenance
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record

FIELD SERVICE

This is a field-based Commercial Refrigeration Technician position. Service work is performed at customer locations throughout the tri-state area of Connecticut, New York and New Jersey.

Candidates should be comfortable traveling throughout the assigned service territory and working independently at customer locations.
